Findly — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 August 2026

What this app is

Findly lets a Shopify merchant build a product-recommendation quiz for their storefront. This policy explains what data the app processes, for merchants and for their shoppers.

Data from merchants

When you install the app we store: your shop domain, an API access token issued by Shopify, the quiz content you create (questions, answers, product links), your app settings (such as the admin language), and cached product titles, handles and image URLs for the products you link — used only to display them in the admin. Prices and availability are never stored; they are read live from Shopify when needed.

Data from shoppers

Quiz responses are anonymous by design. When a shopper completes a quiz we store which answers were chosen and which products were recommended — with no name, email, IP address, cookie, or any other identifier. The app sets no cookies on the storefront and does no cross-site tracking.

GDPR

The app implements Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks. When a merchant uninstalls the app, all of the shop's data — quiz content, settings and responses — is deleted when Shopify sends the shop redaction request (48 hours after uninstall). Customer data requests and customer redaction requests are honoured; because responses carry no identifier, there is ordinarily nothing to export or delete for an individual shopper.

Where data lives

The app is hosted on Fly.io and its database on Neon, both in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by the managed database.

What we never do

We do not sell data, share it with third parties beyond the hosting providers above, use it for advertising, or train machine-learning models on it.
